How we work

A deliberate methodology — four phases, executed by principals, sequenced to a single outcome: a decision the client can defend.

We do not operate a deal factory. Each engagement is scoped to its own facts, staffed by a named partner, and delivered on a timeline that respects the weight of the decision rather than the convenience of throughput.

The four phases

From first listening through final execution.

01

Discover

We begin with unstructured listening — to ownership, to management, to the history and the unwritten rules of the business. We read every shareholder agreement, every board deck, every operating report that matters. Two to three weeks of pure absorption before we propose a single action.

The output is a diagnostic memorandum, not a pitch.

02

Model

We build the numerical case from first principles. Sensitivities, scenarios, downside protection, and financing optionality — modeled by the engagement partner, not handed to a junior team. We pressure-test every assumption against external benchmarks and present ranges with explicit confidence levels.

The output is a defensible model — not a spreadsheet decorated to persuade.

03

Challenge

Before presenting to a board or capital source, we subject our own work to adversarial review — a senior principal who was not part of the build is assigned to break the case. Weaknesses surfaced here are weaknesses the client never sees from the other side of the table.

The output is a sharpened narrative — one tested in private before it is tested in public.

04

Deliver

Whether the mandate closes with an executed transaction, a governance restructuring, or a decision not to act, we present our findings in person, to the principals responsible, with the full reasoning laid open. We remain available for six months post-close as a matter of course.

The output is a decision the client can defend — publicly, privately, and over time.

Engagement models

Two ways to work with us. Both are senior-led. Neither is templated.

If this methodology resonates, we would welcome a conversation.

Every first conversation is with a senior principal and held in strict confidence.
